Senseless headhunting...I dont know what hockey is coming to.
Nylander did get absolutely crushed and he left injured, but he had the puck and the hit was to the shoulder.
The speed of the game has increased tremendously in the last 20 years with the way training has evolved, not to mention the change to the rules about 15 years ago taking away the stickwork to the body that used to slow down the play tremendously. I agree, for this reason, the game has gotten more dangerous, but c'mon. This is a classic "head down when it should have been up" hit. He didn't go down that hard because the hit was illegal. He went down hard because he wasn't expecting to take a hit and didn't defend himself. |
